ABSTRACT
Healthy tissue can be maximally preserved when the necrotic tissues are excised with versajetTM. So the versajetTM make the wound heal earlier and prevent burn scar formation. 53 patients who over 16 years of age were included from October 2007 to March 2008. We classified the wounds into three type according to the shape and character. First, undulated wound (face, joints, finger web, etc.). Second, geographic wound (small deep wound, large area but hard to excise with Humby knife). Third, granulated wound (well granulated sites, chronic wound). The versajetTM helped preservation of surrounding normal tissue, ligament, vessel, etc. and rapid healing regardless of our wound classification. The versajet® made easier the escharectomy and removing of granulation tissue especially where hard to access with Humby knife. The use of versajetTM become wide in various wound.
