Nutrition Management for Pressure Sore

ABSTRACT
The most important risk factor for pressure sore is pressure following malnutrition. Nutrition status is an important factor for recovery as well as occurrenceof pressure sore. Nutritional management is understanding metabolic status of patients and controlling diet with the evaluate the goodness of fit for nutritionand improving patients` dietary life through nutritional guidance and consultation. The purposes of nutritional management for pressure sore are recovery of pressure sore without aggravation of the disease, preventionand recovery of malnutrition and reduction of recurrence, complication and motality from pressure sore. Therefore, Proper nutritional management for pressure sore is very important. Patients with severe pressure sore should be combined a wound dressing with nutritional management based on nutritional status. (J Korean Wound Management Soc 2010;6:33-36)
